Financing Options
There are two local financing programs that can provide funds for performing your recommended energy improvements. Hopefully, similar programs will one day be available for all Marylanders.
For residents of the City of Annapolis, EmPOWER Annapolis provides low-interest rate financing that is tied to your home's water bill. If you move before the loan is paid off, both the energy improvements and the loan to install them stay with the property. This program started in June 2010.
There is a similar program for residents in Montgomery County called Home Energy Loan Program (HELP), which ties low-interest energy improvement loans to a home's property tax. This program should kick-off in the fall of 2010.
We will update this area as these and other financing programs become available.
