In 2005, the founding partners saw the need to help Marylanders cost-effectively retrofit their homes with green building practices. TerraLogos Green Home Services was incorporated in the summer of 2006, and we started performing home energy audits that fall.

We quickly realized that our customers needed contractors trained in building science techniques to properly perform their recommend energy improvements. So TerraLogos developed comprehensive energy retrofit contracting services. Now the audit is just the first step in our full-service process to improve building performance.

We also out-grown our “Green Home Services” name, as customers have asked us to help them improve the energy efficiency of other buildings besides homes. We have performed energy audits on schools, churches, offices and multi-family apartment buildings.

So in 2009, we changed our name to TerraLogos Energy Group.

The very same issues that affect energy use and comfort in homes also affect other Maryland buildings. Therefore, we can use the same methods for analyzing, diagnosing and solving their energy efficiency problems. It is simply a matter of scale and complexity.
